Directors Michael and Krys Giles founded Giles Engineering in 1986, as mobile on-demand mechanical repair business based in Perth, Western Australia. Trading on their core values of quality, integrity and reliability, while remaining completely customer focused saw the company grow substantially. Operating on-site maintenance workshops for several companies, and utilizing a fleet of services vehicles, resulted in efficient and quality service, while limiting costs. Expansion into other engineering sectors and consistent strong growth necessitated a paradigm shift in the company’s operational structure.
In 2004, Giles Engineering became Diverse Engineering (WA) Pty Ltd to better reflect the diversified nature of the business as it expanded to provide a range of services including mobile, marine and fixed plant mechanical repairs, steel fabrication and welding, and general machining. The success of the business was driven by the recruitment of a talented management team who ensured each division of Diverse Engineering operated under those same core values of quality, integrity and reliability.
Diverse Engineering relocated to new premises in Maddington in 2006, allowing the administration, machining, fabrication and mechanical departments to operate from one location.
Marine Division experienced significant growth due to the acquisition of BJ Marine in 2009, and since then, becoming agents for Yanmar, Steyr and the Barnacle Buster product range.
Following the acquisition of AB Engineering’s equipment, workshop and transfer of their staff in 2010, Diverse Engineering’s Machining Division capabilities expanded to include large diameter boring, white metal bearings and design/drafting services.
Today, Diverse Engineering’s commitment to deliver outstanding service to every client remains as strong as it was in 1986.
